By Isaiah Smith, Lincoln Recreation Center Assistant Supervisor
In times of so much uncertainty, one thing is sure — parents need after-school care for their children. That’s where the Lincoln Recreation Center comes in with our after-school program for kids ages 6-15.
While many of our procedures have been altered, we’re still devoted to providing the same high-quality program that parents expect. The program’s students receive help with their homework from qualified tutors, create unique arts and crafts projects, and socialize safely with their peers.
The Parks & Recreation Department maintains a safe and fun atmosphere and has implemented policies and procedures to ensure safety. We practice social distancing, limit the number of guests, and require masks. Staff and participants are screened daily, and the facility is cleaned following CDC guidelines.
The spring semester runs from Jan. 5-May 21. You can register online or by calling 979.764.3779. Qualifying households can drop off proof of eligibility on weekdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Lincoln Recreation Center.
Space is limited, and participants must be engaged in on-site classroom learning through CSISD. Dates are subject to change, and the program will follow the CSISD schedule.
