Wellwishers joined the city council to bid farewell to local icon Anne Hazen in June. Mayor Mooney issued a proclamation recognizing her many decades of community service. Hazen is the former director of nursing at Hospice Brazos Valley, served on the city council for six years, and volunteered for many area non-profits. Hazen moved to Massachusetts to be closer to family.
