This weekend, the holiday spirit sweeps through College Station with a whirlwind of joyful events, including our community's inaugural Christmas Parade.
But the weekend is not just about holiday revelry – it's an opportunity to foster community spirit, make unforgettable memories, and spread joy by making a difference in the lives of others.
Friday-Saturday: 6-10 p.m. – Beachy Central Park
Christmas in the Park Event Weekend
The popular Christmas in the Park event weekend is Friday and Saturday from 6-10 p.m. at Stephen C. Beachy Central Park. The free festivities promise an enchanting and memorable experience with old-fashioned hayrides, delicious cookies, soul-warming hot cocoa, local performers, photos with Santa and his reindeer, and much more.
If you can't make it this weekend, you can still enjoy the one million Christmas lights at Beachy Central Park from 6-11 p.m. each night through New Year's Day. Kids can also drop their letters to Santa in the special mailbox outside the Central Park office.
Saturday: 8-10 a.m. – CSPD Headquarters
Breakfast with Blue Santa
On Saturday from 8-10 a.m., the College Station Police Department hosts its annual Breakfast with Blue Santa at police headquarters on Krenek Tap Road. Families are invited for donuts, milk, juice, and photos with Santa. Children 12 and under will receive a present while supplies last.
Saturday: Noon-1 p.m. – College Station Walmart
The Salvation Army Mayor Ring-Off
Regardless of which mayor prevails, the Salvation Army's annual Mayor Ring-Off benefits the entire community through the invaluable work of the BCS Salvation Army. College Station Mayor John Nichols will man the iconic red kettle at the College Station Walmart on Saturday from noon-1 p.m., while Bryan Mayor Bobby Gutierrez will be at the Walmart on Briarcrest Drive.
If you can't make it in person, you can donate online through the virtual red kettle.
Saturday: 3:30 p.m.
College Station Christmas Parade
The inaugural College Station Christmas Parade is Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The parade route starts on Holleman Drive near Post Oak Mall, turns south onto Dartmouth Drive, then east on Krenek Tap Road, finishing at Beachy Central Park. At 6 p.m., the official lighting of the Central Park Christmas Tree and the Jingle Bell Fun Run will kick off the second night of Christmas in the Park Event Weekend.
The parade promises to dazzle spectators with over 70 beautifully adorned floats and the world-famous Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. KAMU-TV will broadcast the parade at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
This weekend is just the start of the annual Christmas in College Station campaign. Other enchanting events are scheduled in the coming weeks.
We invite you and your family to be a part of College Station's holiday magic!
