Last Saturday, the REACH Project and our community made the second annual For the Culture Market a memorable event that will have a lasting and positive impact. As REACH advocates, the City of College Station is thrilled to share event highlights and extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made it possible.
The market was held at the College Station Visitor Center at 1207 Texas and showcased over 60 businesses, along with food trucks, barber services, youth activities, and live performances. With more than 750 attendees, the turnout tripled from last year, a testament to the community's strong support.
The vendors’ feedback was overwhelmingly positive:
- The food trucks completely sold out.
- A quarter of non-food vendors sold out.
- Nearly half of the vendors made over $400 in sales.
- Three vendors exceeded $1,000 in earnings.
- Over 600 transactions were processed, and 36 haircuts were provided.
One attendee praised the event for its diverse vendor selection and engaging atmosphere, highlighting its impact on celebrating diversity and supporting minority-owned businesses.
The REACH Project and its Community Leaders Subcommittee made the market's success possible. The committee is composed of individuals who have benefited from REACH programs.
We deeply appreciate the supporters and community members who participated, attended, and volunteered. Your support was instrumental, and together, we lauded our community's diversity and entrepreneurship.
