Annual pageant allows seniors to strut their stuff
Two years ago, a group of local seniors was looking for ways to let people know that a growing population of people 55 years and older thrives in College Station. That led to the idea of a pageant that would allow seniors an opportunity to socialize while being entertained by our peers.
Like most great ideas, this one came with its share of challenges. A successful event would obviously take money, but it would also take good planning. Since I had been involved in fashion shows
with my local mission sisters from First Church, we decided to develop the pageant as a fashion and talent show that would honor and recognize older adults with a memorable seniors’ night out.Â
