First Homegrown at Northgate market set for Sunday

By Kendra Davis, Visit College Station Event Coordinator

Everyone knows that the go-to place for College Station nightlife is Northgate. But did you know it’s rapidly becoming a favored daytime destination for residents, visitors, and families?

The inaugural Homegrown at Northgate, a farmers and artisan market, is part of Visit College Station’s effort to create and host more family-friendly events in our most renowned entertainment district.

The event is set for Sunday, April 11, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Patricia Street Promenade. Admission is free. The first 100 attendees receive a free tote bag from our friends at Aggieland Outfitters.

While you’re there, we encourage you to enjoy a delicious meal or drink at one of Northgate’s outstanding restaurants.

The Brazos Valley is a creative and productive hub for an impressive array of goods and services. Homegrown in Northgate is a celebration of the many farmers and artisans who call the Brazos Valley home.

The idea for the event was born at December’s highly successful Howdy Holly-Days event at Northgate, which mimicked an artisan market. Why not have a similar spring event and invite area farmers to join the fun?
