Lincoln Rec Center’s affordable after-school program offers safe, responsible supervision

By Kelli Nesbitt, Parks & Recreation Marketing Coordinator

As parents, caregivers, and students across the Brazos Valley gear up for the new school year, they should consider enrolling in the Lincoln Recreation Center’s After School Program.

High-quality after-school programs help keep kids safe, inspire them to learn, and serve as a source of support and comfort to working families.

According to the Afterschool Alliance, parents increasingly look to after-school programs to support young people’s overall health and development. However, access barriers prevent millions of youngsters from benefiting from these programs. In many cases, cost and a lack of transportation are the main contributors.

Through the College Station Parks and Recreation Department, the Lincoln Recreation Center offers an affordable program for kids 6-15 years old with constructive activities and responsible supervision by well-trained staff. The program is open to residents and non-residents, and transportation is provided from select schools.
