Annual Jingle Bell Fun Run kicks off festive Christmas in the Park event weekend on Dec. 2

By Kelli Nesbitt, Parks & Recreation Marketing Coordinator

For over three decades, College Station’s annual Jingle Bell Fun Run has been fun in its truest sense.

The one-mile race isn’t timed and is intended to be an entertaining, light-hearted way to kick off the popular Christmas in the Park event weekend at Stephen C. Beachy Central Park.

The 32nd Jingle Bell Fun Run is Friday, Dec. 2, and will be part of Christmas in the Park for the second year. The race starts at 6 p.m. at the hayride line near the tennis courts. Part of the run is on an unpaved surface.

The run is an ideal opportunity to see the lights before enjoying an evening of old-fashioned hayrides, cookies, hot cocoa, performances by local song and dance groups, actual snow slides, photos with Santa and reindeer, and more.

The early entry fee is $15 and includes a shirt and jingle bells if you register by Nov. 13. The cost is $20 during the Nov. 14-27 late registration period. Jingle bells are included, but you aren’t guaranteed a shirt. Participants three years old and under are free.

You can also register by calling 979-764-3486 or stopping by our Central Park office.

Packet pick-up is from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Nov. 30 and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Dec. 1 at our Central Park office. Keep in mind that no parking is available in the park on the event day, and dogs aren’t allowed. Shuttles run from 4 p.m.-midnight from the Post Oak Mall parking lot (JCPenney side).

See you at the finish line!
