By Stacey Vasquez, Economic Development Coordinator
As part of Economic Development Week, the City of College Station joins communities across North America to celebrate and recognize the contributions of professional economic developers in creating economically vibrant and livable communities.
As local and regional economies evolve, the role of economic developers and development organizations is crucial in energizing, preparing, and promoting local economic growth. College Station’s strategy emphasizes extensive collaboration to encourage economic growth and diversification, leading to increased sales tax revenue and an enhanced quality of life.
Economic Development Week was created in 2016 by International Economic Development Council, the largest international professional trade association for economic developers. The observance seeks to increase awareness of local programs that create jobs, advance career development, and improve the quality of life everywhere.
The City of College Station expresses its sincere gratitude to our many partners that strive to bring continued economic success to the Brazos Valley, including:
- Texas A&M University System
- Texas A&M University
- Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation
- City of Bryan
- Brazos County
- Brazos Valley Council of Governments
- Brazos Valley Small Business Development Center
- B/CS Chamber of Commerce
