By Brian Piscacek, Assistant Director of Economic Development
Communities nationwide are coming together through Friday to celebrate Economic Development Week, highlighting how economic development investments help create jobs, enhance our quality of life, and provide a stable tax base.
As part of the recognition, the City of College Station acknowledges how private and public sector engagement contributes to industry and retail recruitment, favorable development, and an expanding tourism economy.
Our economic development efforts have focused on innovative technology, strategic retail development, and robust redevelopment opportunities in the past year. Our team has proactively engaged with industry and retail prospects with nearly a dozen outreach visits and conferences. We’ve also hosted numerous local business retention and expansion activities and events.
We thank the International Economic Development Council, a non-profit, non-partisan membership organization, for sponsoring Economic Development Week. We genuinely appreciate its ongoing support in promoting the people and projects of economic development.
The City of College Station’s Economic Development team is tremendously honored to play such an essential role in helping our community continue to grow, develop, and prosper.
