The City of College Station’s economic development team, Grow College Station, is partnering with The Cannon, a Houston-based entrepreneurial network, to bolster local resources for entrepreneurs, startups, investors, and corporate innovators.
The Cannon is renowned for supporting innovation through coworking spaces, advisory and investor networks, and mentorship programs tailored to help entrepreneurs bring ideas to life.
Earlier this year, the City formalized an agreement with the Cannon Connect platform to enhance College Station’s entrepreneurial landscape with a centralized digital space to manage, develop, and connect with our business ecosystem. The tool elevates the City’s existing entrepreneur network by integrating extensive resources, the member network, and best practices to create a robust virtual hub for innovation and collaboration.
The Cannon Connect platform was launched in conjunction with November’s National Entrepreneur Month and introduced at Tuesday’s special Business over Breakfast event. The introduction included a demonstration of the platform’s capabilities, including its social functionality, forums, online training, educational sessions, and community event calendar.
The platform facilitates networking and knowledge-sharing, empowering College Station’s entrepreneurs to connect with peers and mentors within the larger entrepreneurial network.
The digital initiative complements efforts by local nonprofit and university organizations, business partners, and individuals committed to supporting entrepreneurship. Through the combined efforts, Grow College Station and The Cannon aim to nurture the next generation of business leaders and innovators, fostering a vibrant community of growth and opportunity.
