As a civic-minded College Station resident, you probably vote on Election Day and write an occasional letter to the editor. You may even attend a few city council meetings.
But have you ever wondered how you might be more directly involved in local government decisions? You could always run for a place on the city council, but you don’t have to be a council member to make a genuine and meaningful difference.
How about volunteering to serve on one of the city’s boards, committees, or commissions? These essential citizen groups tremendously influence our community’s quality of life, and we have abundant opportunities for you to make a difference. If you live in College Station and are a registered voter, you meet the basic qualifications to serve.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, and the City Council will make appointments in January.
