By Stacey Vasquez, Economic Development Coordinator
As local and regional economies evolve, economic developers and development organizations play an essential role in driving progress, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable growth.
College Station’s strategy emphasizes extensive collaboration to encourage economic growth and diversification, leading to increased sales tax revenue and an enhanced quality of life.
This week, we join communities across North America to celebrate Economic Development Week, highlighting how economic developers help build vibrant, resilient, and livable communities.
Economic Development Week was created in 2016 by the International Economic Development Council, the largest international professional trade association for economic developers. The observance seeks to increase awareness of local programs that create jobs, advance career development, and improve the quality of life everywhere.
The City of College Station extends its heartfelt appreciation to our many partners throughout the Brazos Valley whose dedication and efforts contribute to the region’s continued economic success, including:
- B/CS Chamber of Commerce
- Texas A&M University System
- Texas A&M University
- Greater Brazos Partnership
- City of Bryan
- Brazos County
- Brazos Valley Council of Governments
- Brazos Valley Small Business Development Center
