By Colin Killian, Public Communications Director
In this week’s episode of “What’s Up, College Station?“, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Gene Ballew discusses the meaning of Parks and Recreation Month, the department’s shifting focus, and why Veterans Park and Athletic Complex is his favorite. A Marine Corps veteran, Ballew was elevated to assistant director earlier this year after 17 years with the City.
The Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial at Veterans Park is commemorating its 25th anniversary on Thursday, July 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will include open house tours of the 12-acre memorial.
