The College Station City Council conducted a full day of extensive discussions about the city’s FY 26 proposed budget on Wednesday at City Hall.
The discussions covered revenue sources, staffing, departmental budgets, capital projects, and the fund balance and forecasts. A video recording of the meeting is available at cstx.gov/cstv19.

Here are the workshop presentations:
The council increased the City’s funding of the Brazos County Health Department by $100,000. Council members also directed that funding not be increased for Arts Council affiliate grants/affiliate marketing and operations support, keeping them at FY 25 levels.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the College Station City Council directed staff to include additional funding for the Public Works operations facility, Texas Independence Park, Veterans Park ballfields, and a local music statue in the Five-Year Capital Plan. Cost estimates will be determined.
The budget was introduced to the council at a special meeting on July 7. Outside agency funding requests were presented at the regular council meeting on July 10.
Following public hearings on the budget (July 24) and tax rate (Aug. 28), the council is scheduled to adopt the budget on Aug. 28. The new fiscal year begins Oct. 1.
