Are you looking for ways to relax, recharge, and connect with nature? The City of College Station’s Gary Halter Nature Center offers a variety of free classes, from family yoga and meditation to holistic health sessions and guided forest walks.

We have something for everyone, regardless of experience:

Heartfulness Family Yoga (all ages)

Saturday, Aug. 30, Sept. 6, Oct. 11, Nov. 15, Dec. 20 | 10-11 a.m.
Unwind, strengthen your body, and bond with your family in a supportive, fun environment with instructor Linda Didsbury. The program welcomes all levels, from beginners to seasoned yogis.

Yoga mats are provided while supplies last, or bring your own, and don’t forget a water bottle to stay hydrated. Enjoy a boost in flexibility, focus, and overall family well-being.

Meditation Meetup (ages 18+)

Sundays through Dec. 14 | 11 a.m.-Noon
Find inner peace and calm at the Meditation Meetup. Guided by Lance McDowell and Brett Warnecke, the outdoor program teaches techniques to manage stress, quiet your mind, and create a sense of balance.

We won’t have sessions on Aug. 31 or Nov. 30.

Holistic Health Days (all ages)

Sunday, Sept. 7, Oct. 5, Nov. 2, Dec. 7 | 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Recharge your mind and body with a full morning of wellness practices at Lick Creek Park. Learn holistic techniques that reduce tension, improve energy, and promote emotional balance. Materials are provided in the climate-controlled classroom at the Gary Halter Nature Center.

Schedule of Events
10-10:45 a.m.: Sheng Zhen Qi Gong with Lisette Templin
11-11:45 a.m.: Meditation/Dhamma with Lance McDowell and Brett Warnecke
12-12:45 p.m.: Heartfulness Yoga with Linda Didsbury

Fall Discovery Forest Walk (ages 18+)

Wednesday, Nov. 12 | 10-11:30 a.m.
Reconnect with nature on the Fall Discovery Walk at Lick Creek Park. Led by Esther Turner, the guided, interactive walk encourages mindfulness, reduces stress, and inspires appreciation for the outdoors. Space is limited; reserve your spot by emailing lbrown@cstx.gov.

LOOKING FOR MORE?

Check out the Meditation in Motion as Medicine for Relaxation and Joy class for ages 18 and older. The weekly class introduces students to Sheng Zhen Meditation and costs $96 per person for eight classes.
