5 things to watch at Thursday’s City Council meeting

The College Station City Council meets on Thursday after 6 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting will be streamed live on Optimum Channel 19 and at cstx.gov/cstv19. We also encourage you to follow our live meeting blog at blog.cstx.gov.

To address the Council regarding any item on the workshop or regular agenda, please register with the city secretary by 2 p.m. by calling 979-764-3500 to provide your name and phone number. Written comments will be provided to the council members.

Here are five items to watch:

1. Rec Center Feasibility Phase 2

The Council will discuss the second phase of the Recreation Center Feasibility Study, which covers building program development, operations assessment, a cost pro forma, and the engagement of a steering committee. Phase one included a market analysis and needs assessment.

2. Destination Wayfinding Signs

The Council will discuss updating destination wayfinding signage in College Station.

3. Tax Rate Hearing and Adoption

The Council will conduct a public hearing on the City’s advertised property tax rate of $0.511872 per $100 valuation. The Council will consider adopting the rate later in the meeting.

4. FY 26 Budget Adoption

The Council will consider adopting the City’s $474.2 million FY 26 budget. The Council received the proposed budget on July 7, conducted workshops on July 16 and Aug. 12, and held a public hearing on July 24. 

5. Fees, Rates, and Charges

The Council will consider adopting FY 26 fees, rates, and charges for City programs and services.
