Looking for a summer job that’s fun, rewarding and gets you outside? Join the College Station Parks and Recreation Department and spend your summer at the pool, soaking up the sun while helping families create lasting memories.

At Adamson Lagoon and Cindy Hallaran Pool, you can turn your love of swimming and summer fun into a paycheck.

But lifeguarding is more than a summer job; it’s a chance to gain valuable skills, boost your resume and build connections. As a lifeguard, you will:

  • Earn starting pay of $12 per hour
  • Work outdoors in the sunshine
  • Meet new friends, including fellow lifeguards and pool visitors
  • Build leadership, responsibility and lifesaving skills

To apply, you must be at least 16 years old and possess an American Red Cross lifeguard certification. If you aren’t a certified lifeguard, we offer Red Cross lifeguard certification courses on the following dates:

  • Session 1: March 27–29 (Friday-Sunday)
  • Session 2: April 10–12 (Friday-Sunday)
  • Session 3: April 24–26 (Friday-Sunday)
  • Session 4: May 1–3 (Friday-Sunday)
  • Session 5: May 15–17 (Friday-Sunday)

The classes are from 5–9 p.m. on Fridays and from 9a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The per-session cost is $158 for residents and $198 for non-residents. Registration ends the day before each class.

If you work the full summer, we’ll reimburse your certification cost at the end of the season.

If you need to get recertified, lifeguard recertification is offered on Saturday, May 9, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. The cost is $80 for residents and $100 for non-residents. Registration ends May 7.

If you’re ready for a summer of fun, friends and responsibility, apply today!
