From DMs to Solutions: Connecting Residents with City Services

Every day, residents turn to the City of College Station's social media channels for information about city services, community events, public safety and much more. Our goal is to provide timely information, answer questions and connect residents with the resources they need.

In recognition of World Social Media Day on June 30, we're highlighting some of the most common questions we receive through our social media channels and how we help connect residents with City services.

Utility Services

Questions about utility services, billing and outages are among the most common inquiries we receive.

We provide updates when available and connect residents with Utility Customer Service so issues can be reported and addressed as quickly as possible.

Traffic and Road Construction

Traffic impacts, road closures and construction projects are another frequent topic.

We share updates about active construction projects, lane closures, detours and major traffic changes so residents can plan ahead and stay informed.

Code Violations and Neighborhood Concerns

Residents also contact us about neighborhood upkeep and possible code violations.

We direct residents to the appropriate reporting tools, such as SeeClickFix, so concerns can be reviewed and routed to the appropriate department.

Special Events

Community events generate many questions before and during each event.

We share event details, schedules, parking information, participation opportunities and weather updates to help residents prepare and enjoy City events.

More Than Likes and Shares

The City of College Station Public Communications Office actively monitors the City's social media accounts Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Messages and comments are read and responded to by City staff committed to providing helpful, accurate information in a timely manner.

We ask residents to keep comments and messages respectful so conversations remain helpful, productive and focused on serving the community.
