The College Station City Council meets on Thursday after 6 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting will be streamed live on Optimum Channel 19 and at cstx.gov/cstv19.

To address the Council regarding any item on the agenda, please register with the City Secretary by 2 p.m. by calling 979-764-3500 to provide your name and phone number. Written comments will be provided to the Council members.

During Hear Visitors, individuals may address the Council on topics NOT appearing on the regular agenda.

Here are five items to watch:

1. AUSL Championship

As part of the consent agenda, the Council will consider a sponsorship agreement not to exceed $160,743 (Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund) with the Athletes Unlimited Softball League for the AUSL Championship Series on July 23-27 at Texas A&M’s Davis Diamond.

2. Parks and Recreation Update

The Council will receive its annual update about the Parks and Recreation Department’s services and operations.

3. Housing Density

The Council will hear a presentation on possible incentives to increase housing density. The City’s Housing Action Plan focuses on affordable housing, but its strategies include increasing the housing supply to help stabilize or lower prices by increasing supply.

4. Harvey Mitchell Land Use/Rezoning

After a public hearing, the Council will consider a request to change the land use (7.2 acres) and zoning (8 acres) on Harvey Mitchell Parkway South between Dartmouth Street and Earl Rudder Freeway South to pave the way for a multi-family residential development. The applicant seeks to change the land use from General Commercial to Urban Residential and the zoning from General Commercial/OV Corridor Overlay to Multi-Family/Natural Areas Protected.

5. Wolf Pen Creek UDO Amendments

After a public hearing, the Council will consider amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance to change the use requirements and specific standards for vehicle sales in the Wolf Pen Creek District.
