The City of College Station’s Harvey District Plan is well underway, guiding reinvestment, connectivity, housing, business vitality and public spaces along Harvey Road from Texas Avenue to State Highway 6. As this effort moves forward, community input remains essential to shaping the outcome.

We invite you to take a brief community survey to share your experiences in the district and your vision for its future. Whether you live, work, shop, own property, or regularly travel through the area, your feedback will help us understand local priorities and shape realistic, community‑grounded recommendations.

Early engagement has highlighted themes such as supporting existing businesses, improving access and safety, strengthening the district’s identity, and protecting affordability. Community perspectives, paired with technical analysis, will guide revitalization scenarios, design concepts, mobility strategies, and implementation steps.

The survey takes about 7–10 minutes to complete (all responses are anonymous) and asks about:

• Your connection to the Harvey District.
• How you travel through and use the area.
• Challenges you see today.
• What future improvements matter most.
• Ideas for housing, businesses, public spaces, mobility, and safety.
• One key change you’d make if you could.

A certified public planner, Heather Wade is in her third year as the City’s principal planner. She previously served as a community engagement specialist and researcher at Texas A&M and worked in planning for the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development and Texas Sea Grant. Heather earned three degrees from Texas A&M – a bachelor’s in environmental studies, a master’s in urban planning, and a doctorate in urban and regional science.
