The final school bell doesn’t have to signal the end of learning, fun, and connection! The Parks and Recreation Department’s After-School Program offers local youth a safe, engaging, and supportive environment to stay active, complete homework, and build lasting friendships.
Located at the Lincoln Recreation Center, the program serves children ages 6–15 throughout the school year. Led by a well-trained, dedicated staff, daily activities include structured sports, outdoor games, arts and crafts, and quiet homework assistance. The program is open to residents and non-residents.
Transportation Services
For added convenience, paid transportation is available from the following schools:
- Elementary & Intermediate: South Knoll, College Hills, Rock Prairie, Southwood Valley, River Bend, Oakwood Intermediate, Cypress Grove Intermediate
- Middle & Charter: A&M Consolidated Middle School, International Leadership of Texas
Schedules
Fall Semester (Aug. 19 – Dec. 18)
- Regular Hours: Monday – Friday, 3 – 6 p.m.
- All-Day Programs (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.): Sept. 25 & Oct. 12–13
- Early Release Day (12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.): Dec. 18
- Holidays/Closures: Sept. 7, Nov. 23–27
Spring Semester (Jan. 5 – May 26)
- Regular Hours: Monday–Friday, 3 – 6 p.m.
- All-Day Programs (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.): Feb. 12 & 15, March 15–18, March 29
- Early Release Day (12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.): May 26
- Holidays/Closures: Jan. 18, March 26
Program Fees & Scholarships
We strive to keep our programs accessible. Financial assistance and scholarships are available for qualifying households.

How to Register
- Fall Semester: Registration is open now! Spots are limited. Register in person at the Lincoln Recreation Center, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Spring Semester: Registration opens Nov. 2.

About the Blogger
Kelli Nesbitt has served the Parks and Recreation Department for 20 years, including 13 years as marketing coordinator. She also served a year and a half as the marketing and community engagement specialist for the City of Bryan from 2023-25. A Bryan native, Nesbitt earned a bachelor’s degree in health and kinesiology from Sam Houston State.
