Will you be the “Man of the House” on Friday?

Help us celebrate Park and Recreation Month Friday night with a free showing of the 1995 family comedy “Man of the House” on our 32-foot inflatable, high-definition screen. This month’s Movie in the Park will be at the W.A. Tarrow Pavilion located at 1000 Eleanor St.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., you can also enjoy nature stations and crafts, a disc golf education and putting station and demonstrations from the Texas A&M Forest Service and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Door prizes will include city pool passes, Grand Station Entertainment Laser Tron and mini-golf packages, and family passes to Aggieland War Games and Zoomz Paintball.

The movie will start about 8:30 p.m.

Ready for another evening of free, family-friendly fun?

Join us Friday at the American Pavilion at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex to watch “Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” on our big screen. We’ll have a trivia contest before the movie, so be sure to arrive early.

Registration is from 6:30-7 p.m., followed by the contest. Click here to register in advance. The movie starts at 8:15.

Join us Friday night at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater for an evening of adventure with a free showing of Disney’s coming-of-age story, “Brave,” on our 32-foot tall high-definition screen. Gates open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8.

In honor of Mother’s Day, the first 50 mothers accompanied by a child will receive a free flower. Moms can also enjoy complimentary cookies and light refreshments in the Green Room while supplies last.

Classic movie “The Sandlot” featured Friday on Wolf Pen Creek’s big screen

Join us Friday night for a free outdoor showing of the classic coming-of-age movie “The Sandlot” on a 32-foot high definition screen at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater. Our theme is “A Night at the Ballpark,” so wear your jersey to support your favorite team.

The family-friendly evening starts at 7 p.m. with free hotdogs provided to the first 50 people through the gate. Members of the Brazos Valley Bombers and their lovable mascot KABOOM will be on hand from 7-9 p.m., and a bounce house will be available for the youngsters.

how-to-train-your-dragon-poster-1Let the call of adventure draw you to explore and discover an evening of free, family fun at Movies in the Park on Saturday Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater. Add to the mood by dressing in your best Viking attire for a night dedicated to the Land of the Dragons.

The event starts with a look at the fascinating habits and behaviors of the unique creatures of the Franklin Animal Reptile Exhibit, followed by a Viking-style turkey leg eating contest. The fastest eater in each age group will receive a $20 gift card to Café Capri, Genare Italian Restaurant/Mr. G’s Pizza, Casa Rodriguez or Must Be Heaven Sandwiches.
