If you dream of performing on a live stage in front of enthusiastic and appreciative music fans, here’s your chance. The crowd-pleasing Voters’ Choice contest returns to College Station’s Starlight Music Series this spring after a successful debut in 2016. The public will vote April 4-15 to determine the three artists who will perform at Wolf Pen Creek on May 6. Entries must be received by midnight on April 2. When three new artists – Kaitlin Lindley, Stereotype and Reptilian – take the stage at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater on Saturday, July 2, their presence will mark a historic moment for the 15th season of College Station’s popular Starlight Music Series. This year, the city introduced an online contest where fans of the music series could vote among a select group of musicians to be featured during the final concert of 2016. Lovers of all types of music have ventured to Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater since 2002 to enjoy free, family-friendly entertainment in the Starlight Music Series.

We’ve welcomed original artists performing soulful blues, 80s rock, jazz, Texas country, traditional country, and even contemporary symphony. Big names such as Willie Nelson, Eddie Money and the Bellamy Brothers have taken center stage.

While Willie’s not coming back (yet, anyway), we offer you two compelling reasons why our 15th season may be our best yet:

Warm-up for Starlight at the Wolf Pen Creek Fajita Cook-off

Beef FajitasThink your fajitas are the best? You have a chance to prove it at the Fajita Cook-off on Saturday, May 4 at the new Wolf Pen Creek festival site.

The festival grounds are a beautifully-manicured, 10-acre green space located between the WPC Amphitheater and the Arts Council of Brazos Valley on Dartmouth Drive. The new amenities include about a half mile of 10-foot wide concrete walking trails, and water and power hookups that enable us to better serve vendors and festivals. 

The cook-off starts at noon with aprons and gift cards awarded  to three places in both commercial and non-commercial categories. The deadline to enter is April 19, so click here to register.

Will You be Starlight’s 300,000th Guest?

Although we’ve experienced many great occasions this spring at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater, we’re expecting a truly special moment Saturday night when we welcome the 300,000th guest to the award-winning Starlight Music Series. Celebrating its 10th season, the free series has attracted 296,547 visitors for 87 previous concerts.
