High-level summer sports tournaments to attract about 38,000 visitors to our community

Have you wondered why our community still seems packed with people when most college students are gone for the summer? The reason is simple – College Station is a sports tourism hotbed, and summertime is our busiest season! The Parks & Recreation Department will host 10 tournaments from May 27-Aug. 27, attracting about 38,000 visitors. Busy sports event schedule expected to attract about 40,000 visitors to town this summer

Summer is our busiest sports tourism season. The Parks and Recreation Department hosts 10 events from May 20-Aug. 28, including state championships in girls fastpitch softball, boys and girls youth soccer, and 7-on-7 football. We expect these events to attract about 40,000 visitors to fill our hotels, restaurants, and stores.
