Gabe Bock of TexAgs Radio conducted an outstanding and insightful interview with Lance Jackson and Jimmie Gilbert Thursday morning. Jackson (pictured at right) is the supervisor at College Station’s Lincoln Recreation Center and Gilbert is the supervisor at Bryan’s Neal Recreation Center. The pair’s friendship goes back to their days as Texas A&M athletes in the mid-1980s.
Jackson was a three-year football letterman under Coach Jackie Sherrill from 1983-85 and was part of a Southwest Conference championship team as a senior. Gilbert was a four-year basketball letterman under Coach Shelby Metcalf from 1983-86 and also won an SWC title as a senior. Gilbert still ranks seventh in school history with 803 career rebounds.
