City launches engagement website for Wellborn Plan Update before Tuesday’s public meeting

By Naomi Sing, Staff Planner

The Wellborn area has experienced changed conditions in recent years, so the City of College Station is updating the original area plan that reflected changes expected from 2013-23.

We are launching an interactive virtual engagement site for the Wellborn District Plan Update and will conduct another area-wide meeting on Tuesday.

The virtual engagement site allows residents to participate in the public comment process, learn more about the update process, and share their thoughts and ideas. In addition, you can review the plan’s goals, provide feedback on a comment map, and read comments from other community members.

Participate Online

The second area-wide meeting is Tuesday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wellborn Middle School. The session includes a discussion of feedback from the first phase of public meetings and activities.

The update seeks to create a cohesive district that recognizes Wellborn’s unique character, reflects the residents’ aspirations, and supports College Station’s overall vision. The city is working diligently with residents to help create the updated plan and is committed to ensuring residents have a genuine voice. The virtual engagement site and public meetings are critical components of that commitment.

We encourage you to take advantage of the website and hope you join us at Tuesday’s meeting. We look forward to discussing your thoughts and ideas.

If you have questions or want to be more involved in the planning effort, visit the project website or contact me at nsing@cstx.gov or 979-764-3570.
