Here are four items to watch:
1. Lincoln Avenue Rehabilitation
The council will consider a $9.36 million contract with Larry Young Paving to rehabilitate Lincoln Avenue from Texas Avenue to University Drive. The existing asphalt road will be replaced with concrete pavement, and a shared-use path will be constructed on both sides of Lincoln.
2. Carters Creek WWTP
The council will consider a $10.98 million contract with Dudley Construction for the Carters Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant diversion lift station and force main. The project will divert some of the existing flow to the expanded Lick Creek WWTP.
3. Collection Line Rehabilitation
The council will consider an $864,440 contract with Elliot Construction for the Phase I rehabilitation of a well field collection line near the Sandy Point Pump Station. The collection line was installed in the 1970s and has reached the end of its service life.
4. Drought/Water Conservation Plans
The council will review proposed updates to the city’s Drought Contingency and Water Conservation Plans. The changes help reduce water demand and address system strains during emergencies or periods of high demand.
