In 2011, the City of College Station began using the free SeeClickFix app to make it easy to report code violations and other non-emergencies using your smartphone, mobile device, or desktop computer.
The most frequently reported issues concern overgrown weeds and grass, trash accumulations, sanitation receptacles, parking, potholes, water leaks, and broken streetlights or signs.
Since the program’s inception, the city’s Code Enforcement Division has resolved 99.9 percent of the nearly 20,000 reported cases. We typically acknowledge requests within a day and close them within two weeks.
SeeClickFix uses GPS to identify a specific location and links it with a photo of the issue taken with the smartphone. When you report a problem, the app sends it to the appropriate code enforcement officer, who provides feedback and determines the proper action.
The app also allows you to track the status of your complaint, receive progress reports, and comment on other complaints.
How to Use SeeClickFix
To start using SeeClickFix, simply download it from your device’s app store or sign up online.
When you submit an issue, provide as much information as possible, such as an address or the identification number on a streetlight pole. It’s helpful to include a photo if you can.
