Are you looking for a way to unwind, bond with friends or family, or get some good, old-fashioned face time with others? The Southwood Community Center has the answer, with game night events scheduled throughout the fall.

Games for All is for you whether you want to participate in a themed game night, play a classic card, board, or role-playing game, or find something new. The monthly, free events are generously supported by Clock Work Games and occur on the second Friday of each month from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

All ages are welcome, but an adult must accompany minors.

The theme nights for fall events are listed below, but a wide variety of games are available at each event:

  • Sept. 13: Catan Night: Wheel and deal your way to victory in the civilization-builder game.
  • Oct. 11: One Night Werewolf Night: Attempt to find the werewolf in your group before it’s too late.
  • Nov. 8: Chess Night: Learn the classic game of skill and test your mind in mental warfare.
  • Dec. 13: Uno Night: Test your friendships in a game where alliances can be forged or dismantled.

Beginner Dungeons and Dragons

No knowledge of DND is necessary to enjoy a night of D&D 5e – just a willingness to learn and have fun. New and experienced players alike will enjoy our homebrewed campaign.

Beginner Dungeons and Dragons is a monthly free event for adults only, supported by Clock Work Games. The available dates are Aug. 23, Sept. 27, Oct. 25, Nov. 22, and Dec. 13 from 6:30 to 10 p.m.

Here’s what to expect:

  • An episodic campaign that allows for multiple player groups to influence the over-arching story.
  • Pre-built characters enable ease of access with customization available later.
  • Necessary materials are provided, such as dice, character sheets, and pencils.
  • Easy-to-learn breakdown of the core rules as you play.
