The City of College Station invites residents to share their thoughts on the redevelopment of venerable Mabel Clare Thomas Park in the Eastgate neighborhood. The voter-approved project seeks to enhance and revitalize one of our community’s most beloved parks while maintaining its historic character and charm.
Parks are essential to our quality of life by providing recreation, relaxation, and social connection spaces. Suggested improvements include:
- A new pavilion with convenient restrooms for events and gatherings.
- Memorial or historical elements to honor the park’s history and significance.
- Additional lighting to improve safety and accessibility.
- Shaded areas for more comfortable recreation, especially in the summer.
- Unique playscapes and recreational elements for all ages.
To ensure the enhancements reflect your needs and desires, we encourage you to complete a brief survey and attend a public meeting next Tuesday (Sept. 24) from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Bush 4141 Community Room at City Hall. The meeting will allow residents to discuss how the park can better serve the community’s needs.
The survey is open through Friday, Oct. 4.
The City of College Station is committed to creating spaces where community members can gather, play, and connect. Make sure your voice is heard as we shape the future of Mabel Clare Thomas Park.
