LRC’s January programs seek to reignite MLK’s aspirations of keeping the dream alive

The Lincoln Recreation Center‘s January lineup of FREE programs and events aim to help you get fit, launch a new career, and reignite MLK’s aspirations of keeping the dream alive.

Through these programs, we seek to motivate our community to keep moving forward remember the dream of common peace MLK spoke about almost 60 years ago.

Here’s the schedule:


FIT FEST (all ages)
Saturday, Jan. 11 • 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Start the New Year with free fitness demonstrations and health tips from experts. Sweat to Latin Beats, participate in a 15-minute boot camp, and try the fastest-growing recreational sport, Pickleball.


41st ANNUAL KEEPING THE DREAM ALIVE MUSICAL CELEBRATION (all ages)
Friday, Jan. 17 • 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Remember, reflect, and reconnect with families and friends as we honor Dr. King and his legacy. Experience a powerful evening of music, inspiration, and unity as we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year’s theme, “Harmony for Change”, includes songs of praise from the gospel recording group Unity of Navasota and others


CAREER FAIR (ages 16+)
Wednesday, Jan. 29 • 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Dress to impress and bring your resume to connect with local employers. The fair is offered in partnership with Workforce Solutions Brazos Valley.
