The College Station City Council meets at City Hall after 6 p.m. on Thursday. The meeting will be streamed live on Optimum Channel 19 and at cstx.gov/cstv19.

To address the Council about any item on the agenda, register with the city secretary by 4 p.m. or call 979-764-3500 and provide your name and phone number. Written comments will be provided to the Council members.

Here are five items to watch:

1. Detention Pond Standards

The council will discuss the City’s detention pond standards and possible new requirements.

2. Neighborhood Parking

The council will discuss on- and off-street parking related to single-family density and overoccupancy concerns in residential areas.

3. Legislative Engagement

The council will discuss the City’s engagement activities with the Texas Legislature.

4. Fire Station No. 7 Contract

The council will consider a contract amendment with Lott Construction for a guaranteed maximum price of $12.4 million for building construction, utilities, and paving work for Fire Station No. 7. The City’s contingency of $1.1 million provides a total appropriation of $13.5 million for building the voter-approved facility at 2981 Greens Prairie Road. The official groundbreaking is set for April 29 at 10 a.m.

5. Baseball/Rec Center Committees

The council will consider establishing a Baseball Field Design Committee and a Recreation Center Planning Committee to encourage public engagement and transparency. The baseball committee will guide the design of three new fields for local youth leagues and sports tourism at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex. The recreation center committee will steer the second phase of the feasibility study regarding a potential facility.
