5 things to watch at Thursday's City Council meeting

The College Station City Council meets on Thursday after 6 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting will be streamed live on Optimum Channel 19 and at cstx.gov/cstv19.

To address the Council regarding any item on the workshop or regular agenda, please register with the City Secretary by 2 p.m. by calling 979-764-3500 to provide your name and phone number. Written comments will be provided to the Council members.

During Hear Visitors, individuals may address the Council on topics NOT appearing on the regular agenda.

Here are five items to watch:

1. Pebble Creek Parkway

The Council will discuss the designation of Pebble Creek Parkway on the College Station Thoroughfare Plan and potential options. Staff will provide background information on the role of thoroughfares and other streets.

2. Economic Development Master Plan

The Council will discuss the update of the City’s Economic Development Master Plan, including a summary of insights gathered from partners, business owners, and residents, as well as proposed focus areas. The final plan is expected to be presented to the Council in January.

3. ROO/HOO Removals

After public hearings, the Council will consider removing the Restricted Occupancy Overlay (ROO) and High Occupancy Overlay (HOO) from the zoning for various properties to comply with a new state law (SB 1567). Refer to the meeting packet for details about the affected properties.

4. Comp Plan Evaluation

After a public hearing, the Council will consider accepting the Comprehensive Plan 5-Year Evaluation and Appraisal Report, along with its associated appendices. The report was developed in collaboration with input from citizens, City leaders and departments, the Planning and Zoning Commission, and other relevant boards and commissions.

5. Impact Fee Advisory Committee

After a public hearing, the Council will consider removing the Planning & Zoning Commission’s designation as the Impact Fee Advisory Committee to align with a new state law (SB 1883).
