By Stacey Vasquez, Economic Development Coordinator

This week, College Station joins communities across North America in recognizing Economic Development Week and the work of the professionals behind the scenes who are building stronger, more resilient local economies.

Economic development is how a city plans for what’s next. It’s the connective tissue among employers, talent, infrastructure and civic leadership. For the City’s economic development team at Grow College Station, it’s a deliberate strategy to ensure our city grows on its own terms.

By diversifying our economy, expanding healthcare and innovation, leveraging our unique partnership with Texas A&M, and supporting the businesses that already call College Station home, we are creating a more resilient place for everyone.

The result is a city positioned to grow on its own terms. Effective economic development translates directly into stronger sales tax revenue, better job opportunities, and a higher quality of life. It’s the engine that allows us to invest back into the parks, roads, and services that make the Heart of Aggieland special.

That growth doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Grow College Station is grateful to the partners across the Brazos Valley whose collaboration makes regional progress possible:

Established in 2016 by the International Economic Development Council, Economic Development Week highlights the programs and professionals who create jobs, advance careers, and improve quality of life in communities worldwide.

Strong roots, steady progress. Together, we’re building a future that is as bright as it is sustainable.
