I feel like we need more NATURAL wooded walking trails! Most of our land will be used for sports and large commercial projects and I don\’t see any natural areas being preserved before we run out of land.We only have lick creek park and a few short trails off of WDfitch. I do love the central park, pool on rock prairie and the TAMU aggie park!

Construction on Texas Independence Park at Midtown is scheduled to begin late this summer. The project will transform more than 120 acres of parkland and greenways into one of the area’s most dynamic public parks with a wide range of outdoor recreation opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages. More than 60 acres of dedicated greenways will remain preserved to protect local habitat.

The park is planned as a regional destination for outdoor recreation, combining active use areas with preserved natural space as the area continues to grow. It will include mountain-bike trails, a pump track, walking paths, two playgrounds for ages 2-5 and 5-12, and an 18-hole disc golf course. Additional amenities will include covered pavilions, restrooms, a fishing pond and parking areas distributed across the site.

Texas Independence Park at Midtown is expected to become a signature destination in College Station, offering active recreation and peaceful green space as the area continues to grow.
