5 things to watch at Monday's city council meeting

The College Station City Council meets at city hall on Monday after 6 p.m. for its final gathering of 2023. The meeting is streamed live on Optimum Channel 19 and at cstx.gov/cstv19.

We also encourage you to follow our live meeting blog at blog.cstx.gov.

To address the council about any item on the workshop or regular agenda, register with the city secretary by 4 p.m. or call 979-764-3500 and provide your name and phone number. Written comments will be provided to the council members.

Before the council meeting, the city will recognize employees who reached the 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30-years-of-service milestones. The ceremony begins at 3 p.m.

Here are five items to watch:

1. Southeast Park, Ball Fields Update

The council will receive project updates on Southeast Park and future ball fields.

2. Victoria Roundabouts

The council will discuss traffic roundabouts on Victoria Avenue.

3. Holleman Easement Abandonment

After a public hearing, the council will consider abandoning a 30-foot-wide public drainage easement south of 3055 Holleman Drive South across General Parkway.

4. Greens Prairie Water Tower Rehab

The council will consider a $1.79 million contract with O&J Coating for rehabilitating the Greens Prairie Elevated Storage Tank, including a $179,000 contingency for a total appropriation of $1.97 million. The project consists of rehabilitating and repainting the two-million-gallon tank.

5. Board Appointments

The council will make appointments to BVSWMA's board of directors and the Brazos Central Appraisal District.
