Welcome to our live blog from the College Station City Council meeting on Monday, Nov. 25. It’s not the official minutes.

The real estate portion of the executive session agenda was inadvertently left off the original posting, and the correct version was posted Friday evening. As a result, part of the executive session will be after the regular meeting to abide by the 72-hour posting policy.

National Entrepreneurship Month
Mayor John Nichols proclaimed November as National Entrepreneurship Month to recognize the contributions of entrepreneurs, from startups to established businesses. It celebrates their achievements, successes, and contributions to society and encourages them to keep pushing the boundaries of innovation.

Hear Visitors
No one spoke during Hear Visitors, when citizens may address the council on any item not on the posted agenda.
6:36 p.m.
Consent Agenda
The council voted unanimously to approve the entire consent agenda:
- Extended parking fee exemptions to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays in the 300 and 400 blocks of Stasney Street and Tauber Street.
- A $863,025 contract with Weisinger for rehabilitating Water Well No. 3, along with a contingency of $86,975 for a total appropriation of $950,000.
- A $125,800 change order with Elliott Construction for construction services related to the Sandy Point Pump Station Wellfield Collection Line Phase 1. Â
- The semi-annual report on system-wide water, wastewater, and roadway impact fees. The one-time charges are imposed on new development to help recover the City’s costs for providing capital improvements for the development.Â

Emergency Management
The council heard an update about the City’s emergency management operations and collaboration with partner agencies.

Southern Pointe Easements
After a public hearing, the council unanimously approved the abandonment of a 0.77-acre portion of a 20-foot-wide public utility easement along Darlington Avenue in the Southern Pointe Subdivision.
After another public hearing, the council unanimously approved the abandonment of a 0.005-acre portion of a 20-foot-wide public utility easement along Darlington Avenue in the Southern Pointe Subdivision.
The easements are unused, and a separate easement has been dedicated.

Northpoint Crossing Commercial Space
After a public hearing, the council unanimously approved a request to reduce the required commercial space on the ground floor to 24% for the Northpoint Crossing property at Texas Avenue and University Drive.

Committee Appointments
The council appointed Mark Smith as chair of the Council Transportation Committee and Scott Shafer to the Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Greenways Advisory Board.
7:46 p.m.
Planning & Zoning Commission Chair
The council appointed Jason Cornelius as chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
8:01 p.m.
Mayor Nichols adjourned the open meeting after the council discussed its calendar, items of community interest, committee and board reports, and future agenda items. The council has gone back into executive session.
The council meets again on Thursday, Dec. 12.
